Tangled Up is a song about that treacherous tangled web of confusion and letting go that comes with the end of a long-term relationship. It’s a “post-break up song”, beyond the initial emotional heartbreak when you’re looking back and reflecting on everything that was. Tangled Up illustrates my folk/singer-songwriter roots. I feel the songwriting is mature and developed. I really like the internal rhymes of the lyrics and gentle vocal performance. The delicate acoustic guitar is accompanied by subtle piano, mellotron and percussion, providing warmth and intrigue to this softly-spoken song to conclude the album.
